Paris is a little bit expensive and the public transportation only works well if they are not on strike. We stayed for a day and a half and it was enough for us to see the landmarks. The other option is to stay longer, take trains to other cities in France and do other activities such as wine tasting.

Getting around Paris
When booking a trip to France always verify the lately news, since at times political events can change the bus and train routes or even shutdown. Due to protest, we did not have the opportunity to use trains or buses during our stay. Near the Eiffel Tower you can use Batobus, a water transport. Batobus stops in all the landmarks and operates from 10:00 to 5:00 pm. A ticket for the Batobus costs around $18.00 per person and is valid for 24 hours. The good thing about using the water transport is that it’s a fixed route, no matter what is happening in France, it leaves you close to the landmarks, and you can hop on and off as many times as you want.
What to do in Paris?
Paris has many landmarks and museums. The obvious main attraction is the Eiffel Tower. You can take pictures of the tower from the bottom and from a far. The best way to take a picture of the tower, is to walk up to Trocadero Garden. Because it is on higher grounds, Trocadero Garden is the perfect spot for pictures of the Eiffel Tower. We walked from our hotel to the garden before sunrise and took pictures of the tower during sunrise and it was an amazing experience.
Another must, is to visit Le Louvre. We bought the tickets online to skip the line, and it was the same price as if you bought it at the museum. They were around $20.00 per person and they give you an electronic ticket. The museum is huge! You can literally spend hours looking at art works and not even notice that time has passed. Because of how much time you can spend in the museum, you will probably get hungry. In the museum, there are some small cafes that sell snacks like sandwiches and coffee. You can bring your own bottle of water or buy one in there.

Le Champs of Elysees is another well known place. This street is where all the expensive stores like Louis Vouton, Gucci and Prada are. At the end of the street you will find another landmark, the Arch of Triomph. On the other end, you will find the Place de la Concorde which is known for being an execution site during the French Revolution; Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette (among others) were guillotined here. During the mid 19th century, it was redesigned to what it is today. The Batobus stop to Le Champs of Elysees, is actually underneath Pont Alexandre III, which is known as the most beautiful bridge in Paris.
Another stop the Batobus makes is Pont des Invalides, a military outpost in the city. Across the bridge you will find another museum called Musee Quai dOrsay which has many antiques. In the heart of Paris is Notre Dame, known to be in the Ile de la Cite, home of the kings in the Middle Ages. The best way to visit all of this places is on the Batobus.
Where to eat?
For breakfast you can go to a bakery and ask for a croissant or a sandwich in a baguette with coffee. These are just some examples of a typical French breakfast. As for lunch and dinner, Paris offers different restaurants with a variety of food. Therefore, you can eat anything, from pasta, sandwiches, duck, chicken, etc. Our hotel was close to Le P'tit Gavroche restaurant which served French cuisine such as duck with potatoes.

Paris is a great city to visit, 1or 2 days should be just enough time for one to visit all the landmarks and museums mentioned before. For more information on what to do in Paris you can message us on our Instagram page.
